Impossible Love
They will call it "las nubes," mi amor con alas,
its the greatest escape of impossible love.
here we're free of heartsong played staccato,
free from the realities that were never enough.
from an opposite world my heart breaks,
standing incomplete before my missing piece.
and wonders in watercolor, purity in snowflake,
cannot grant my body a weightless release.
gravity has stolen you from between my finger tips;
separated a friendship heaven itself penned aloud...
with each kiss, do they taste sorrow on our lips?
do they smell rain from our visits to the cloud?
for we have proved foolish before mighty God,
wasted the possibility to soar above other men.
doomed to such great heights, broken, flawed,
neither of us will ever know such a love again.
