little light

Slowly Im becoming the person you knew,
Aging into the wisdom that comes with grace.
But unable to stay Im just passing through,
Wearing my travels in the lines on my face.

Memories remain of those adrenaline stars,
So new a feeling for someone so young to feel.
Little jewels now locked away behind hot bars;
The arteries in my body holding the seal.

Your light now burns within my fragile chest,
Made immortal beyond the slow hurt of grey.
Held aloft in my dreams brighter than the rest,
It shines purpose upon my wanderer way.

Behind the blue green of my ocean held eyes,
Fire not of my own rattles around in my brain.
And finally at peace with your stars in my skies,
Theyre gone beyond reach but the light remains.
