She chose the earth

Worlds apart,
we look up to each other from different skies.
We hold with reverence nostalgias of better times,
of youth's freedom from ignorance and old lies...
before we committed loveless crimes.

Diamond forged heart,
too far to hold but never too far to know.
We feel each other in the day,
in the spaces between the mundane.
Connected by the lines we walk,
by the border wars; window and rain.

Some times I feel so see through,
naked to eyes that know mine well.
Cheapened by lack of mystery,
and without novelty, just history.
I am bound by you, desperate, compelled,
to be special to you, darkened belle.

I have traced these lines back to the beginning,
back to the heart of us, to the first chapter.
Back before we grew our separate ways,
and learned to call something else "ever after."

I chose the sky, you the earth,
each rooted in mirrored worlds of opposition.
One solid, one far less confined,
yet we share this mirrored reflection.

~~~ Notice the lack of form. Going for the substance of the moment, rather than the form. The experiment continues.
