Dear Snow,

Falling now,
Like beautiful petals,
Like autumnal leaves,
Caught by a sudden breeze,
In the stillness of the night.

Whisper so softly to me,
My glistening crystal of frozen glass.
Cast a chill upon the dark,
And decorate the trees,
For they are weary of their bland state.

Fill the air in your mighty company,
And dance between the shores
Of heaven and earth,
Like sojourners of far away.

And it was something of magic,
To but glimpse your coming here.
So quietly did you descend,
Moving ever so quickly,
With no need of applause.

It seems some flight of imagination,
Some divine blessing in expression,
For your only purpose to be beauty.
Tip toe so lightly now my little dreams,
For the world is eager to await your splendor.

So sincere is your existence,
That i must yield to those of greater kind.
Be made welcome to this world,
And show us the power in purity.

Little beauty,
Simple flower of frost,
Ever so simple in design and composition,
Never again will I miss your presence.
Ephemeral though it is.

Inherently placed upon you,
Significance is beyond your devising.
Monuments are useless upon you,
And poetic words will never compare.

You are unconsciously excelling,
Whispering your brilliance every winter,
And it is all I can do
To but applaud you now.
How wonderful are your works.
