Shadows and Dust
As each snowflake quietly fell,
They painfully burned away.
I asked for clues they couldn't tell,
And reached for what they wouldn't say.
Do you dare to watch them fall?
Try to listen as each disappears.
Speaking a language I cant recall,
They speak in whispers and frozen tears.
In perfection they were designed,
But proud and full of blind youth.
Without wings their time is defined,
And pride is useless to gravity's truth.
Sitting here at my snow frosted window,
I bow before the beauty of their fate.
How profound to know what they know.
To understand their death and cooperate.
They painfully burned away.
I asked for clues they couldn't tell,
And reached for what they wouldn't say.
Do you dare to watch them fall?
Try to listen as each disappears.
Speaking a language I cant recall,
They speak in whispers and frozen tears.
In perfection they were designed,
But proud and full of blind youth.
Without wings their time is defined,
And pride is useless to gravity's truth.
Sitting here at my snow frosted window,
I bow before the beauty of their fate.
How profound to know what they know.
To understand their death and cooperate.
I love it. This rhyme pattern really works.
